Description:

Su Suergiu is an antimony mine.

History:

1800: Discovery of mineral deposits.

1850: First mining activity

1889: Società Anonima Miniere e Fonderie di Antimonio from Genova.

1920: Società Montevecchio.

1941: Società AMMI.

1979: Società SAMIM - ENI.

1986: Società SIM.

The mine is now part of Geo-Mineralogical Park of Sardinia; At the Su Suergiu mine the former management building and the little village are restored and there is a little museum containing objects used in the antimony mine.
